Sugoi makes my all-time favorite bike shorts and these are no exception. The overall material and chamois is different from their older Evolution short but still fits like a glove with cushion in all the right places. I've had my Sugoi shorts for over 6 years through thousands of miles (including some pretty long and rugged bike tours) and they are still going strong.My wife loves them and are her favorite shorts now. Time will tell on longevity. True to size chart.Very disappointed in Sugoi. I have used and loved their products for years, so when it came to needing new shorts - I went to my goto. Well the price hasn't gone down but chamois sure has gone down hill. How dare they call this an RC pro chamois. I still had faith, thinking they couldn't have actually done this but after 35 miles in the saddle - I'm sad to say they did. The least they could have done is say rc pro 2.0 so the expectation of getting what you have had before is gone.These shorts have a ton of padding in the back, but the padding in the front stops about an inch or two sooner than it should. Completely bizarre design for what's supposed to be a mid/higher-end road short! The chamois is also one solid block rather than having any channels, which seems like it wouldn't help ventilation on long, hot rides. I had high hopes for these since I have another pair of shorts which supposedly have the same "RC Pro" chamois, but Sugoi must have changed the chamois design since then.very snug fitIt was not the pad that it says it should be. Too wide and not enough padding!! Had to return it!!I love SUGOi shorts, they have been a winner for me for years for long distance bike touring. I recently purchased a couple of new pairs to add to my collection and initially feared I had received some product fakes in online shopping since the colors matched on the pads, but the contours *appeared very different*. Upon closer inspection and conferring with various sources, I confirmed the RC Pro pad has indeed changed, effectively flipping the layers of the pad so the even/smooth side is up and the contoured side down, toward the saddle. For your visual reference, the 2015 pro pad on the right (after 5,000 miles... still in great shape!), with the newer 2018 style on the left. These are both the "Evolution" style shorts in Medium. The 2018 style has slightly tighter leg and waist bands, but doesn't "sausage" my legs, as least in the 9" inseam style of the shorts. (The 6" shortie style, is much less flattering on me...your results may vary.) I haven't been able to get the new style out on the road for miles yet, but I expect it will function as well as the old style.
