I am a set size 20 tall, I have thick thighs and wide calves and most skinny jeans are just too tight for my liking. I prefer a slim fit though the leg, with a skinnyish ankle.. nothing baggy. My favorite jeans (Maurices Curvy skinny plus size jeans) were discontinued. so I thought I would give these a go.. They are a very similar fit. the ankle is looseish but works great with both sneakers, and Ballet flats. The rise is just at my belly button, and theback falls firmly at my waist. I would prefer a little roomier seat, but I wear a belt with all jeans, and it keeps it in place so my underwear don't hang out. I can see if someone had a rather large booty it would not be tall enough in the back. They are super soft. The color is amazing. They are not a real thick denim, so if you are looking for that, these are not the jean for you. I needed something that looked nice for work. If you have thin legs and are more of an apple shape, these will probably be more of a straight leg for you. I have thick thighs and calves and these look like skinny jeans on me.
